ScreenDuel (“we”, “our”, “us”) helps you track and reduce screen time by competing with friends.

Data We Process

  • Account: email, username, profile settings.
  • Screen Time Data: individual app identifiers (bundle IDs), per-app usage time in seconds, and app categories (productive/leisure classification). This data is collected with your explicit permission through iOS Screen Time API and is stored permanently to provide historical insights and competitive features.
  • Usage totals: aggregated daily statistics for leaderboards and cohort comparisons.
  • Subscription data: premium subscription status, billing information, and purchase receipts (processed through Apple).
  • Device info: basic app diagnostics (crash logs, version).

How We Use Data

  • Authentication: verify your identity (Apple Sign-In or email/password via Supabase).
  • Core Features: calculate daily screen time totals from individual app usage data for leaderboards and competitive tracking between cohort members.
  • Historical Analysis: store your screen time data permanently to provide trends, insights, and long-term usage patterns.
  • Product Personalization: customize your experience with personalized insights, productivity categorization, and tailored competitive features.
  • Premium Features: process subscription payments and unlock unlimited cohort creation.
  • App Improvement: analyze aggregated usage patterns to enhance the app experience.

What We DON'T Do

  • No Advertising: We do not collect advertising data or show third-party advertisements.
  • No Cross-App Tracking: We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
  • No Marketing Data Mining: We do not use your data for traditional advertising or marketing purposes.
  • No Data Sales: We never sell your personal data to third parties.

Storage & Retention

Data is stored in Supabase (Postgres). You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; this removes your profile and associated screen‑time rows.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Cohort members can see only your username and aggregate daily screen time totals (not individual app details).

Your Controls

  • Data Access: download all your data in JSON format from Profile → Download My Data.
  • Screen Time Permission: revoke Screen Time access in iOS Settings at any time to stop new data collection.
  • Account Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, screen time history, subscriptions, cohort memberships) from Profile → Delete Account. This action is irreversible.
  • Subscription Control: manage your premium subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
